Hi! My name is Virginia Barker. I am a sophomore in college and am 19 years old. I am attending Western Wyoming Community College (WWCC) and I love it here! I will be graduating in the spring with an associates of arts degree in early childhood education. After that, I plan on substitute teaching while going to school at the University of Wyoming (UW). I will then earn a bachelors of arts in early childhood education. Afterwards, I hope to be able to start teaching kindergarten, preferably somewhere in Utah or in Green River. But we shall see where I end up! While teaching kindergarten, I plan on taking online or night courses as well to receive a master's degree in child speech pathology, with an influence in special education. My goal is to be a speech pathologist for young children, specifically for children with special needs. I hope to be working either at a child development center (CDC) or an elementary school.
I absolutely adore children, especially the young ones! They have such a sweet spirit and high curiosity of life. Children really do look at the world differently than adults and I hope to learn how to see it in the same way they do. Every child needs someone they can look up to and lean on. It is my goal to be that person for as many children as I possibly can!!
